Storhamar hit back against the Oilers – could decide the NM final at home
Storhamar reversed the trend and returned to the driving seat in the NM ice hockey finals after winning 4-1 against the Oilers in Stavanger.
The win made it 3-2 overall in a best of seven series. This means that the decision could fall on Hamar on Saturday.
Sverre Rønningen made it 1-0 after three minutes of first half. It was his first goal for Storhamar.
David Booth made it 2-0 in the 2nd half with an over-the-top shot. The 38-year-old American has three goals so far in the last series.
– It’s a crazy wrist shot. It’s almost impossible to see him in the reruns, said TV 2 commentator Espen Ween.
André Strandborg was reduced early in the third half and gave the home side some hope of turning things around. The Oilers pressed, but Trym Gran was solid at Storhamar. Then Eskild Bakke Olsen calmed the Hammers’ nerves with a 3-1 lead. Olsen got his second goal two minutes from time and ensured a large number of home fans left the stadium.
Storhamar got off to the best start in the final series winning the first two games before the Oilers reduced the score twice to 2-2.
If the Oilers beat Storhamar on Saturday, there will be a seventh and decisive game in Stavanger on Monday.
