Galician “success” ‘standing’ in Features

This business space managed by the Tourism Cluster has held more than 400 meetings attended by 1,000 professionals

Galicia Director of Tourism, Nava Castro, has celebrated the “success” of the Galicia ‘stan’ during the International Tourism Exhibition (Feature), which was held in Madrid last week, by achieving an “attendance record” with more than half a hundred presentations and 400 business meetings bringing together approx. 1,000 professionals from the sector.

Castro, in statements to the media, has assured that the one in Galicia is one of the spaces with the most activity during the five days of the event. Moreover, he claims that he managed to become one of the six awards in the ‘Sustainable Stand’ category. Along with this award, it highlights the ‘Excellence Award’ received by the Xacobeo concert.

In total, the Galician facility in Feature, with an area of ​​over 1,000 square meters, hosted a total of 54 resource, product and news presentations from town halls, provincial councils and geo-destinations, in addition to gastronomic and sports demonstrations, among others. action.

The exhibition space is structured as a scenographical device that conveys the Community as a sustainable and quality tourist destination, with Galician enogastronomy as its main axis. Camino de Santiago, ecotourism, nature, hot springs, and tourist festivals are other advantages displayed at this ‘stand’.

As proof of the “success” this space’s entry was the nearly 250,000 printed brochures sold out over the weekend. In parallel, different tasting rooms, offering tastings and ‘showcooking’, registered full audiences.

As for the business space managed by the Galician Tourism Cluster, during the three days dedicated exclusively to professionals, 400 meetings were held in which more than 1,000 agents from the sector participated, figures reflecting the “tourism boom and good perspective” for 2023, such as highlighted by Xunta.

Ireland, the United Kingdom, Brazil and the United States are the main countries interested in Galician destinations, with increasing interest from the Latin American public wishing to visit the Community.

In addition, there is a particular demand for information to comply with the ‘Sustainable Destinations Galicia’ programme, which was launched this year by Cluster and Xunta, along with increasing interest in the MICE sector, indicating the recovery of tourism from the conference.
