Glasses offer real-time captions for the deaf; is XRAI Glass

XRAI Glass, a technology startup based in London, has launched a pair of smart glasses that they use augmented reality technology to provide deaf people with real-time text during conversations.

The company develops proprietary software solutions that record audio, processing it and then displaying the subtitles on the smart glasses screen immediately after.

The software also has voice recognition capabilities, which means that Smart glasses can identify who is talking to the wearer.

According to the company, they are “the first of their kind” and aims to enable the deaf community to participate in everyday conversations by directly converting audio to subtitles displayed in front of the user’s eyes.
