Horst Paulmann and his sons would transfer control and domicile of Cencosud to Great Britain

The Paulmanns would undergo a reorganization within the control of Cencosud: in effect, and on paper, they would transfer the company behind the parent company from Chile to England, which now appeared to be domiciled in that country.

According to information published by local newspapers Third, the company will continue to be controlled by Horst Paulmann and his eldest sons: Heike, Peter and Manfred; under British company PK One Limited. Shares (a total of 1,463 million papers) are tied to that company.

The media added that to clarify the above, the Paulmann family conducted a series of dialogues with their creditors in Chile – mainly from the bank-, to whom they explained the change in the name and address of their company – namely Inversiones Quinchamalí, Tano and Latadía, now all grouped under PK One Limited mentioned above.

The creditor’s response will be good and then a new agreement between the two parties is signed in the presence of a notary.

Through its communications agency, it was explained to AméricaEconomía that Cencosud has not considered any statements in this regard at this time. There is no information regarding this on Cencosud’s investor relations page.

In parallel, EF Agency also put together this news and said that for all of the above, therefore, now Cencosud through its PK One Limited company “will comply with the laws of England and Wales.”

However, an initial search of the name PK One Limited on the UK government website gov.uk indicates that a company with the same name was founded in October 2007 and dissolved in April 2011.

In addition, reference is made to a report submitted to the Financial Markets Commission (CMF) on 8 May, which will support this information.

“I hereby come to report that changes to the person or agent controlling Cencosud SA and Cencosud Shopping SA were made, without any effective change of controller of the latter,” Manfred Paulmann wrote before regulators, in the document. which is publicly accessible.
