In England, a woman rents the house of her dreams and gets scammed

A woman from England decided to rent a property for herself and her children, so she searched the internet for houses to rent, however, while she was processing the paperwork and after giving the money in advance, he was very disappointed.

Kelly Grice, 41, found her dream home through a social media ad and hopes her new accommodation will mark a new start in her life, but in the end it’s a virtual scam.

The property he saw on the internet was located in Darlaston, West Midlands, United Kingdom, suspecting they were cheating, he went to the address and they told him the property was never rented out.

according to the newspaper clarinKelly said the deal had gone through social networks, everything seemed right, it was legal and nothing seemed out of the ordinary, “They sent me an invoice and a rental agreement. Everything is done to look authentic.”

However, something raised suspicions: the alleged owner started asking for cash in advance. First they asked for 830 dollars and then the same amount in advance and then they asked for another similar amount, gave in the end two thousand 500 dollars.

But the more he thought about the situation, the more fuss he made, questioning whether this was real or not. And the alarm goes off, then, “I posted on Facebook about it and everyone was like, ‘This sounds lame. can be trusted'”.

But with more trepidation, he made the decision to visit the house and it was there that his worst fears were proven. He knocks on the door and asked if the property was for rent, but the person attending denied that it was ever, “And he insisted, ‘I think you’ve been conned.'”

He immediately contacted the Police and passed on the details of his scammer to Action Fraud launching an investigation, furthermore, he can get his money back.

Now, Kelly feels a responsibility to warn others of potential dangers. He accepted that he might be overly suspicious, but argued that the scam is sophisticated with documentation that makes it look genuine.

“I learned not to go back to the site when looking for property, not to trust people. That’s a lesson,” he admits.
