“They say that what is important is invisible to the eye, but can’t what is real be important?” Thus the 2022 edition of the Interihotel event organized by the CENFIM cluster is presented.
Doing by hand, as a connection to what is fundamental, is embodied in ‘The joy of making’, the thread of this new edition which will run from 5 to 7 October at Ifema Madrid.
‘The joy of making’ unfolds through five thematic blocks: made to inspire (the art of creating hotels and restaurants), made to last (timeless beauty creates responsible projects), made to transcend (life at the center of design), made to thrive (technology as facilitator invisible) and made by hand (craftsmanship, tradition and pleasure doing with your hands).
Expertise and a return to origins, are key in the new edition of Interihotel, which will be held from 5 to 7 October at Ifema Madrid.
Interihotel is an environment designed to facilitate the relationship between professionals and brands, which determines the interior design of hotels and restaurants. The event is characterized by a high profile of exhibiting and visiting brands. Thus, 90% of those listed have purchasing power or a prescription in the hospitality-contract, which translates into 1,200 new reforms or new construction projects identified among those registered for each edition.
This edition of ‘The joy of making’ features a panel of powerful speakers who represent the impact of design on the world, including Dorothée Meilichzon, founder of global design studio Chzon (AD100); Marc Rahola, CEO and founder of OD Hotels; Héctor Esrawe, architect and founder of Esrawe Studio; Carlos Higinio Esteban and Manuel Villanueva, from Moredesign; Arrate Arizaga from Snohetta or Rebeca Muñoz from Livit. Full program available here.
Interihotel will once again receive an international mission consisting of a select group of architects, interior designers and decision makers in a top tier hotel group from the United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates.
This year the Interihotel award will also be presented, recognizing the people and brands that define hotel interior design. An expert jury, consisting of the leading entities in hospitality contracts, will determine the distinctions for the best hotel interior design project, best restaurant project, most innovative product, best stand and professional career.
Among the contents of this edition, Concept Space will stand out. This is an exercise in adapting interior design for each type of client, in which 2 hotel groups and 2 interior design firms participate (Grupo Plan, founding partner of IHP, and Alejandra Pombo), and exhibition brands that are members of CENFIM. The results of this design thinking are manifested in 2 Concept Rooms which can be visited during Interihotel celebrations.
The metaverse space will be the content with the most innovative technology from Onterihotel, where it will be demonstrated how metaverse technology will help hotel interior design professionals. The space will have 5 hotel rooms built in immersive virtual reality and can be visited simultaneously by people who are in different places, while sharing a holographic presence in the virtual environment. The combination of immersive reality and simultaneous holographic presence is a pioneering worldwide application in space design and will enable more efficient relationships between prescribers, promoters and brands in project development.
In summary, Interihotel in this edition of ‘The joy of making’ will bring together a large product showroom, the largest panel of contract professionals and first-class innovation, both in design and technology. Therefore, this event was confirmed as the leading hotel and restaurant interior design event in Europe.
