Deputy Minister of Financial Administration of the Ministry of Finance, Óscar Lovera, spoke about how the work was carried out to prepare the 2024 State Budget (PGN) and explained that, according to Government guidelines, the priority for next year is to invest more efficiently in health, education, and security.
As stipulated by the National Constitution, it must be submitted no later than September 1 the PGN project, where the new economics team analyzes what the previous team did to reset the numbersif there is a requirement, and strengthen the required area.
“We are looking at what has been done so far, looking at what efforts the State has to make to deal with what already exists, which is rigid spending, talk about salaries, pensions, debt service, and from there identify some resources that can be dedicated to the sectors that the President of the Republic has set as a priority”, Lovera revealed to 1020 AM.

He then said that it was not an easy job, I understand that needs are always unlimited and resources limitedbut they will work to fulfill the goals they have. He also mentioned that they would be watching the country’s revenue and amassing abilities to direct additional resources.
On the other hand, he also spoke about the merger that has started with the Undersecretary of State for Taxation (SET) and the Directorate of National Customs (DNA) which revive the National Directorate of Tax Revenue (DNIT) and hint that it will be included in PGN 2024 and in the meantime, they are waiting for legislation to be enacted to create the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
“We have three institutions that have been merged in terms of the Ministry of Economy they have a duplicate structure that has to be put together and from there redirect human resources”, said Óscar Lovera.
