Different unions participated this Wednesday morning in the presentation of the country’s project “Paraguay: the rise of giants” was carried out by the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, and the Minister of Finance, Carlos Fernández Valdovinos. They highlight sponsoring and motivating messages that they believe will continue to promote investment in the country.
After the presentation made at the Convention Hall of the Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP), the president of the Paraguay Industrial Union (UIP), Enrique Duarte told La Nación/Nación Media that the orderly exhibition that has taken place, with an overview of the history of where the country came from and where it has gone, shows all of Paraguay’s potential.
“Sponsoring, I believe it adds to all the work they’ve done on the business climate and it comes to order ideas from those who already have investments or those who want to invest domestically”, he believes.

The President stressed the importance improving the perceptions of Paraguayans and, for that matter, the head of the IPU emphasized that this undoubtedly drives the economy and added that despite the unbeatable economic conditions in the region, they should continue to gamble improvements to attract investment from technology and high-value industries.

Meanwhile, Alfred Fast, president of the Federation of Production Cooperatives (Fecoprod), assured that he thought It is very good that the head of the Ministry of Finance maintains Paraguay’s position as a green country because we have laws that allow sustainable development. “Paraguay retains 60% of the original forest, we are doing very well, with good wishes with this new government,” he explained.
Asked about the reforms that were on the list of the new Government, including the creation of the Pension Trustees, he indicated they were necessary and aimed at improving the quality of management for Paraguay. He also mentioned that the President of the Republic and his economic team showed their commitment to confront outside interference trying to stop national production.
Regarding Peña’s presentation, which convinced Paraguay to be a leader in the fight against food insecurity, he pointed out that there is a movement that over-evaluates the climate change situation and added that it doesn’t make any sense because of it The only thing it will bring to the country is suffering for the most vulnerable because of the additional costs that will be there for food.

Meanwhile, Guillermo Mas, president of the Construction Chamber of Paraguay (Capaco), argues that position not increasing taxes, the debureaucratization process and the general macro condition of the country are motivating messages that encourage investment, both local and foreign.

How the construction sector and projects view the greater involvement of the private sector in public works shows that Paraguay cannot forget the region given that investment in jobs is responsible for greater economic growth. He stated that there is a tool that allows the private sector to financially intervene in public works while waiving debt to build infrastructure.
