On Tuesday, Liz Truss was sworn in as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. It happened at a ceremony at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. The ceremony was presided over by Queen Elizabeth II.
The Queen tends to hope for a new Prime Minister somewhere else. Either at Buckingham Palace or at Windsor Castle. This was the first time he had done so at Balmoral Castle.
The reason was the Queen’s health and the challenges with traveling. He is currently in Scotland on summer vacation, the newspaper wrote Scottish.

Truss took over from Boris Johnsen. He said he quit in July after several scandals. On Monday it became clear that Truss won. He received 57 percent of the vote. He won over former finance minister Rishi Sunak.
Truss has vowed to implement the tax cuts and face the energy crisis with gusto.
Truss became Britain’s third female Prime Minister. Prior to her, Margaret Thatcher was the country’s leader from 1979 to 1990. Theresa May led from 2016 to 2019.
Conservative leader Erna Solberg sent Liz Truss her best wishes on Twitter.

The Conservative Party and the British Conservative Party are sister parties. They are both members of the International Democratic Union (IDU). This is a gathering of conservative parties around the world.
At the same time, they have various connections in Europe. iHøyre belongs to the European People’s Party (EPP). While the Conservatives broke away in 2009. They formed the European Conservative and Reform Group (ECR).
Liz Truss and Erna Solberg had previously worked together. The two were involved in a new trade agreement between Norway and Britain in 2021. Solberg was still prime minister at the time.
