It British Chamber of Commerce in Spain held this Thursday, in conjunction with the British Ministry of International Trade British Embassy in Madrid (UK Department of International Trade), the second Technology and Innovation Forum in Malaga Tech Park.
Under the title Building a technological bridge between Spain and the UKthe second forum organized by the Chamber in its Powering Today and Tomorrow series of events, brought together nearly 70 participants, many of them directors of major British companies present in Andalusia, around the potential of Artificial Intelligence and the strong economic and technological links that exist between the UK and Spain.
The forum has started with the opening speech Felipe Romero, CEO of Malaga TechPark; you Derek A LangleyRegional Vice President of the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain and President of Technology Recruitment Andalucía.
In his speech, Romera has influenced the development of the park in the last two years during the pandemic, with the creation of Executive Malaga TechPark (club of entrepreneurs and park directors) and the establishment of the Ricardo Valle Innovation Institute Foundation, Innova IRV, as an instrument for the development of collaborative projects between large and small companies in the park.
Derek A. Langley, regional vice president of the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain, has highlighted the organization’s commitment to continuing to build bridges between the two countries, “we don’t just talk about bilateral investments or problems companies face in new relationships, but also we want to bring best practices in innovation and technology to both countries“.
The forum was also attended by the Mayor of Malaga, Francis of the Towerwho gave telematics institutional remarks to those who attended the forum as it coincided with the celebration of the regular city plenary session in May.
After that, a round table was held moderated by Jose Maria Blasco, director of ICEX’s Infrastructure, Health and ICT Division. CEOs and CEOs from major international companies such as Accenture, Innora IRV, Dekra SE, Darwin Innovation Group, AI Tech North, Chipside Mipermit, and Versed AI participated in the discussion.
The speakers described the “strong links” that the two countries’ technology companies maintain in today’s international context, marked by the entry into force of Brexit and the needs that the pandemic has exposed in the European technology sector, one of the most affected by the shortages of global logistics chains, especially in the area of microchips.
They also appreciate the role of Artificial Intelligence and its potential to revolutionize the concept of industrial connectivityexpose the company’s current and future strategies through real cases.
