Malvinas: Melella celebrated the Uruguayan Broad Front’s decision to decline Britain’s controversial invitation

Broad Front MPs reject an invitation from the British Embassy in Uruguay to visit the Falkland Islands, given that the sovereignty of the islands conforms to that of Argentina, accepting it is a “bad sign”.

Controversy broke out as a result of an invitation issued by the British diplomatic authorities in a neighboring country to travel to the islands which were occupied since 1833 by the British Empire. yes it is accepted by representatives of the Colorado Party (PC), National Party (PN), Open Cabildo (CA) and the Independent Party (PI).

“On behalf of the Fuegians and Fuegians, we thank Broad Front for their constant support and commitment, consistent with the historical and permanent support that our Uruguayan brethren have, regarding our rights to the Malvinas Islands”, the provincial president said publicly.

In addition, Melella lamented the fact that “members of parliament from the government coalition have agreed to travel to our Islands sponsored by the British government.whose sole aim is to try to weaken regional support for our country and perpetuate colonialism in the middle of the 21st century”.

“Fortunately, the region understands it in the same way and expresses it clearly and decisively at every opportunity. The Broad Front Action is yet another example that our country wants to live in an area that is peaceful, safe, cooperative, and free from colonialism“, he insisted.
