Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCYT), Tuesday, handed out scholarship certifications to representatives of 48 of 97 outstanding students who are pursuing postgraduate programs at eight universities located in Italy, England, Australia, Germany and Canada.
In the event led by the head of the institution, Dr. Franklin García Fermín and director of international scholarships, Roselia Pérez Novas, outstanding students selected during the Call for International Scholarships in 2021, receive their accreditation to study master’s degrees at the Della University of Calabria and the Italian Marangoni Institute; Wolverhampton, Portsmouth, Edinburgh Napier and Middlesex, London in England, Torrens in Australia; Berlin School of Business and Innovation, in Germany and Royal Roads University located in Canada.
Beneficiaries will study a master’s degree in robotics and automation engineering; economy and trade; communication techniques; program and project management; civil engineering management, design; global project management; public health; medical technology; logistics and supply chain management; advanced materials engineering; renewable energy, global governance and sustainable development; digital art direction, among others.
In delivering his address, Minister Franklin García Fermín highlighted the satisfaction that caused him to participate in the dismissal of 48 students, representing 97 scholarship recipients from MESCYT, who had to join a university that would serve as a scenario for the expansion of their professional training and the achievement of a second university degree.
“I congratulate you, not only for having had the opportunity to study at Universities in Europe and Canada, but also for your enthusiasm and seriousness in your approach to studies, with a strong determination to return to your country to contribute to its integral development. ”, assured the official.
García Fermín also emphasized that scholarship recipients come from various sectors, municipalities and municipalities in the province; Duarte, La Altagracia, Santiago, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, Santo Domingo and the National District.
Deputy minister of administration and finance, Jose A. Cancel, legal director, Jose Guzman Bodden, representatives from the IES Swiss Education Group, the Marangoni Institute and the NABA Academy of New Fine Arts, Ingrid de Herrera and Altagracia Pimentel, as well as a delegation from LAE Dominican Republic, comprising from Wendy Infante and Salvador Quesada.
International scholarship technicians Noemi Calderon, Francisco Luciano, Randy Bautista and Ricardo Peña were also present.
