Although Mexico remains 13th on the list of countries with the world’s largest trade in goods, it is 35th on the list of leading exporters of commercial services, according to the 2022 List of exporters and importers of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
World leaders in the export of commercial services such as logistics, transportation, travel, aviation, computing, leisure, finance and business are: United States, United Kingdom, China, Germany, Ireland, France, India, Singapore, Netherlands, Spain and Japan.
Meanwhile Mexico is 35th in the 2022 list of leading exporters of commercial services with 36 billion dollars, which represents 0.42% of total services exports and is 30th in the ranking of importers with only 48 billion dollars.
Developed countries are the countries that export the most commercial services worldwide, although among the main exporters are China, India, Korea, Poland and Turkey.
The world trade in services, which is considered as an average of imports and exports, will amount to 6.8 trillion dollars in 2022, which is an increase of 15% compared to the previous year.
WTO records show that the service sectors that grew the most were travel, with 79%, and transportation, with 25%. Additionally, telecommunications, recreation, information services, and computing grew into single digits.
