The large-scale test from four days a week conducted in the UK between June and December 2022, shows that the companies experiencing it are confident, according to the conclusions published this Tuesday, February 21, by organizers.
More than 60 companies participated in the experience where 3,000 wage earners worked one fewer day per week while maintaining their wages.
The test is administered by the Global 4 Days of the Week association, with the universities of Cambridge and Boston College, among other institutions.
The results “suggest that nearly all companies will continue to implement 4 days a week after the trial,” with more than nine in 10 certain to continue, according to a statement.

Only 4% of companies are sure to stop experimenting.
The company is not affected by the reduced work week.
According to the researchers, benefits remained stable on average during the trial (+1.4% during the trial) and even increased by 35% compared to the same period in 2021, and there were also fewer resignations, absenteeism, and more new contract work.
The study highlighted “significant improvements in physical and mental health, more time spent exercising, and overall satisfaction with life and work.”
There were also “lower levels of stress, tiredness and tiredness, as well as reduced sleep problems,” the study said.
Initially, 70 companies applied to participate in the project, but nine dropped out before it started because they were not sufficiently prepared, organizers said.
Experiments with a four-day work week have increased recently in Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
