Now, Netflix has made the same decision in the United States and United Kingdomwhere it has removed its basic ad-free subscription plan, which was priced at $9.99 in the US and £6.99 in the UK, as reflected in its most recent Q2 earnings report.
The basic plan lets you view the entire Netflix catalog on one device and without ads. Likewise, it supports viewing content in HD quality and downloading serials or movies is available. This option is the cheapest of Netflix’s ad-free offerings. However, the company seems to be planning to get rid of it.
In this way, new customers who don’t want to see ads while enjoying platform content, and want to choose the cheapest option, will have to subscribe to the standard package. So, American users will have to pay $16.49 per month and UK users £10.99.
