Next spring 2023, the immersive B-747-4 simulator will open to the public in the UK

The top of a retired British Airways Boeing 747-436 has been converted into a flight simulator that will allow visitors to experience the journey on one of the most important aircraft in history, both from the pilot and as a passenger.

The simulator has been built by 747 Experience LTD in Cheshire, UK, and will open to the public in the spring of 2023.

This simulator has a full cockpit with all the original controls and avionics, and will also have an iconic first class cabin.

With all this, the 747 Experience company hopes to keep the memory of the iconic “Queen of the Sky” alive for generations to come.

A company spokesperson said, “The B747 is loved by everyone who works or travels with it. While aviation technology and business requirements continue to evolve, the importance of these aircraft, and in particular British Airways’ 747-436 fleet, means that it is important for us to save as many aircraft as possible (and practically) for future generations. . Passengers, crew, aviation enthusiasts and support teams from Heathrow / Cardiff / globally are just a few of the group who have fond memories of this magnificent aircraft.”

747 Experience is finalizing the details of its website to be able to open it in early 2023 and thus be able to start the reservation process for the experience.

Plans for the construction of the simulator begin in late 2020 after the aircraft is retired. In early 2021, the 747 Experience began receiving the first parts for the simulator. Since then, engineers have been busy creating the most realistic flight experience possible.
