For over a minute it was said that the British Prime Minister had been sacked, when in fact it was the Minister of Finance.
During the last Dagsnytt 18 broadcast of the week on Friday, the sacking of UK Finance Minister Kwasi Kwarteng was the first topic on the poster.
Kwarteng was sacked after receiving strong criticism following its massive tax cuts in the last budget presentation.
But the text on the screen announced that the British Prime Minister had been sacked.
This is where the timeout for the NRK profile is: – I got a total short circuit
The text lasted 1.20 minutes while presenter Espen Aas interviewed NRK UK correspondent Gry Blekastad Almås in London.
Eventually, the text was changed to the sacked finance minister.
The program editor at NRK, Knut Magnus Berge, told Medier24 that it was spelled wrong.
– We misspelled the title in the super text in case that the British finance minister was sacked. We fix them when we find them, program editor Knut Magnus Berge told Medier24.
After the super is fixed, the error is not raised in the broadcast.
– We can definitely tell in the studio as well, but at the same time think that everyone who hears the feature – whether on the radio or on TV – understands that it’s about the UK finance minister, said Berge.
