This was the first time that a group of experts from the Hague Conference held its session in Latin America since the organization’s creation in 1893. The OEI supported the organization of the event, highlighting the institutional importance of the initiative for the country and the country. region.
Meeting of the Working Group on Jurisdiction in transnational civil or commercial litigation The Hague Conference on Private International Law was held at the San Martín Palace of the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs and held working sessions throughout the week. Apart from OEI, this event received support from the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Hague Conference on Private International Law, and the Dutch Embassy.
More than thirty specialists from around the world gathered in Buenos Aires for the event, including representatives from Australia, Brazil, China, the European Union, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Poland, Korea, Russia, Singapore, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, United States, and Uruguay.
This meeting was a fundamental event because it was the first meeting since last March. The Conference’s General Affairs and Policy Council decided to adopt Spanish as the official language of the international organization.
