ULLEVAAL STADION (Dagsavisen): If Zaineb Al-Samarai is elected as the new sports president in about a month, he could take two vice presidents from the same city with him. Al-Samarai represents Holmlia IL, while new first vice president Arne Bård Dalhaug represents Ready. The second vice president, Sondre Sande Gullord, who did not run, represents the Nydalens Ski Club.

– We have considered it, but have come to the conclusion that it is not decisive. We have prioritized the quality of the candidates, and at the same time we believe the board as a whole represents the whole country, selection committee chairman Terje Roel told Dagsavisen.

Arne Bård Dalhaug became the new name on record. This 68 year old man is a former lieutenant general who had a long career at Ready IL.

He replaces Vibecke Sørensen, who was surprisingly dismissed by the selection committee. Sørensen comes from figure skating and is considered one of Berit Kjøll’s supporters.

– It will be an interesting sporting event and election, but that’s the way it should be. It is a very painstaking job to get this done, said Terje Roel, who is among the majority who want A-Samarai as the new president.
