Palestine rejects Israel’s actions and ratifies the political struggle

Palestinian rights are non-negotiable, PNA spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina warned in a statement, condemning the actions of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing government.

Rudeina urged the international community to stop Israel’s threats “contrary to all international resolutions.”

Netanyahu’s extremist government is trying to cause an explosion in the region by blatant disregard for international law, which requires a firm global attitude, he stressed.

In another statement, Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh criticized the theft of Palestinian funds by a neighboring country.

The move will exacerbate the already deficient Palestinian public treasury, but it will not prevent us from continuing our political and diplomatic path in international forums to achieve our independence, he assured.

Among the actions Tel Aviv’s cabinet approved was a halt to all Palestinian construction in Area C, an area that represents 60 percent of the West Bank and has been under Israel’s direct control since 1967.

In addition, they will seize 139 million shekels (about $39 million) from tax funds raised on behalf of the PNA and take action against organizations that promote “hostile activities” against the Jewish state, including political and legal action.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates criticized Tel Aviv yesterday in a statement for its new attack, in response to the ANP’s decision to go to the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

A week ago, at the request of the Palestinians, the UN General Assembly asked the ICJ’s opinion on the “legal significance of the Israeli occupation.”

Approved by 87 votes in favour, 26 against and 53 abstentions, the initiative also called on the judiciary to rule on the conflict and investigate discriminatory laws and Israeli actions to change East Jerusalem’s demographic composition.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs then held a vote and stressed the importance of seeking the opinion of the ICJ’s legal advisers on the nature of the occupation and the need to determine the responsibilities and duties of the international community on this matter.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs salutes all those who contributed to this historic achievement while expressing its dismay at the efforts of various countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, to change the voices of many countries through pressure and threats.
