Sport: A first-half goal from Jacob Ramsey gave Aston Villa a 1-0 win over Southampton starting Mohamed Elyounoussi, but it was Fulham who stole the headlines with their lightning-fast turnaround to win 3-2 at Nottingham.

The hosts took a 1-0 lead after Taiwo Awoniyi scored from a corner in the 11th minute, but in the 54th minute equalized when Tosin Adarabioyo headed in a corner for the visitors. Just over five minutes later, the score was 1-3.

First João Palhinha sent a long-range shot over the crossbar, then Harrison Reed also fired an unstoppable shot. Lewis O’Brien created the excitement again, but the equalizer never came.

– From the first whistle in the first game of the season, we were in attack mode. We have complicated the big one too. There was a good feeling at the club and the manager told us at half-time how we could hurt them,” Reed told Sky Sports.

Fulham move up by three points past nearest neighbors Chelsea up to 6th place in the Premier League, while Nottingham Forest goes into the weekend with only Leicester behind them in the table.

First, Philippe Coutinho tested goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu with his header. In a corner, Ollie Watkins headed home from close range, but Buzunu made a reflex save and hit the crossbar. The return was poorly cleared, and Ramsey was able to smash the ball into the net through the crossbar.

Apart from those few seconds, there wasn’t much to brag about, but VIlla captain John McGinn didn’t care.

– We have received criticism for the lack of will to fight, but today we fought for every ball. It’s not pretty, but it feels good,” he told Sky Sports.

– The game will improve, but today on points, manager Steven Gerrard agreed to the BBC, while Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl struggled to find anything positive to say.

– It was a game that had nothing to do with football, he told the BBC.

Moi was substituted in the 79th minute. He was on the pitch when, after 70 minutes, the crowd honored the queen with applause and song. It was decided beforehand and will be carried out in all arenas this weekend.

In both Nottingham and Birmingham there was widespread support for the movement.

Last weekend, all football matches in England were postponed due to the Queen’s death. The two games on Friday were the first Premier League games since Elizabeth’s death.

– You must always show respect to the queen, and now the country is in mourning, said Beckham.

In Birmingham, Aston Villa snatched the long-awaited victory after a string of chances before half-time ended with a goal.

– If I saw the match on TV, I would probably turn it off, but it was an important win. Now it will be a little easier to travel to national team meetings, said the Scot.

On Friday night, it was also discovered that David Beckham had queued for 13 hours to pay his respects to the Queen in her coffin. The former national team captain stood in line for more than seven kilometers at 2.15am on Friday night and arrived at the late queen’s coffin at 3.15pm.
