Record number of people at UK pro-life march to demand an end to abortion

(LSN/InfoCatlica) On Saturday, September 3rd, the March for Life in the UK was held in central London, with a record number of participants. It seems that the reversal of Roe v. Wade in the United States had a ripple effect across the ocean, as more young people than ever walked the streets in an excited march that ended with a rally in Parliament Square.

Madeline Page, CEO of the Pro-Life Student Alliance, said: We have seen a steady increase in the number of young people wanting to participate in pro-life events from US news, many of them leaving for the first time and They feel that because this topic has been discussed more, it is now acceptable to express their beliefs.

One of the keynote speakers at this year’s event was Shawn Carney, founder and CEO of 40 Days for Life, the world’s largest international pro-life organization. Shawn came from the United States to speak at the parade and started his speech with a resounding greeting from abortion-free Texas! Shawn reminded those present of Mother Teresa’s words: When America ends abortion, the world will follow.

Alongside Shawn Carney were many speakers from the UK, including Hayley, who shared her testimony about forced abortions, and Amrita, who used the first set of abortion pills only to feel momentary regret and contact Dr. Dermot Kearney (also speaker for the day), who prescribed what is known as the Abortion Reversal Pill to Amrita. Next, Amrita showed her beautiful and healthy baby girl to the public.

The roughly 50 abortion supporters who gathered to protest were dwarfed by a crowd of 7,000 at Britain’s March for Life, who chanted his slogan 10 million too many. One of the event’s organizers, Ben Thatcher, explained: This is the number of abortions that have occurred since the Abortion Act was passed in the UK. The co-director, Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, shares her concerns about current abortion laws, which allow abortions up to 24 weeks for almost any reason and up to birth for Down syndrome or disability: Inside Every Pregnant Woman’s Womb there is a human. This is not politics, this is not religion, this is science, he said.

Among those in attendance were people of no religious faith and of various Christian faiths, including three Catholic bishops who spoke at the event. The event is supported by pro-life organizations across the UK.
