MADRID, March 28 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Russian Armed Forces conducted tests on Tuesday with an anti-ship missile in the Peter the Great Bay, which is located in the Sea of Japan, as confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense, which indicated that two ships had carried out practical exercises against a simulated enemy.
Accordingly, it has been indicated in a statement published on its website that two ships, part of the Pacific Fleet, have participated in “planned combat training activities” in which they have launched two ‘Moskit’ cruise missiles, known as ‘SS-N- 22 Sunburn’ in NATO.
The ministry had detailed that the two ships had carried out an attack on a “simulated enemy warship” which was about a hundred kilometers away, before confirming that “the ship was successfully hit by two ‘Moskit’ cruise missiles”.
“The safety of the combat exercises has been ensured by the ships and aircraft of the Pacific Fleet Navy,” it reported. Afterwards, Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayasi indicated that Russian troops had “intensified” their activities in the far east of the country, according to Japan’s Kiodo news agency.
