Sade Fritschi, 26, is the new Minister of Environment, Water and Ecological Transition. Thus, he became the youngest member of President Daniel Noboa’s Cabinet.

Fritschi, who was born in the Galapagos, holds a Master of Science in Project Management with Distinction from the University of Southampton, graduating top of his class and he received recognition for Outstanding Achievement.

Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Hospitality and Tourism Management from Oxford Brookes University. There he graduated with honors and became part of the Mentor Program in the field of environmental management.

The current minister has directed ecological projects, sustainable events and environmental management programs in the country. For example, he was at the forefront of establishing the first recycling system on Isabela Island (Galapagos), with the support of the European Union and the collaboration of WWF, the Charles Darwin Foundation and the UK’s Galapagos Conservation Trust.

He is also director of sustainable development projects. In this position, he has created an ecological brand and promoted environmental management programs for several cities in the country.

The new minister’s leadership will focus, among other things, on water resource conservation, biodiversity preservation, social and community development and inclusion.
