Speculation about Queen Elizabeth’s health

Buckingham Palace announced early Wednesday that he was canceling a planned trip to Northern Ireland because his doctors advised him to take time off.

But after The Sun newspaper wrote about it, the royal family had to admit on Thursday night that he had taken some samples at the hospital and stayed there overnight.

He returned to his residence at Windsor Castle from King Edward III’s private Hospital in London on Thursday morning, according to the royal family “in good spirits”.

The Press Association news agency wrote that the hospital stay was not announced because it was expected to be a short stay. He stayed over for “practical reasons” as it was too late to drive the 42 miles back to Windsor.

Writer Robert Hardman told the BBC there could be some disturbance at the castle over the news that came out, as they were concerned about “preserving the queen’s dignity”.

But the BBC’s royal reporter Nicholas Witchell says the royal family has not provided a full picture of the situation, and therefore rumors and speculation swirl.

He called the phrase “in good spirits” a palace cliché and an expression that was easy to use when needed.

The queen has previously received treatment at hospitals known to be used by the royal family, including when she spent the night there with a stomach infection in 2013. It was the first time in 86 years that she had been hospitalized.

Strong health

The now 95-year-old Queen, who is head of state for Britain and 15 other Commonwealth countries, including Canada, Australia and New Zealand, is known for her strong health.

Only a few colds and a quick surgery in 2018 for cataracts have been reported, without him having to be treated.

Last week, he was seen in public for the first time with a cane during a service at Westminster Abbey, and in several cases in recent years he has used the elevator instead of the stairs at public events.

She still rides horses and drives her own car on her properties in Scotland and England, and preparations are underway to celebrate that next year will be 70 years since she became queen. He is also expected to explain the climate summit in Glasgow in November.

Bubbles under the crown

As the coronavirus pandemic raged at its worst, she retired to Windsor with her husband Prince Philip, where they lived in a separate bubble with a dedicated staff of 20. In January, both received their first coronary vaccine.

Information about his hospital stay is bound to give rise to speculation. Her husband, Prince Philip, died in April, just weeks before he turned 100.

He underwent surgery for heart problems in March and spent several weeks in hospital before returning to Windsor, where he died.
