Boris Becker has just been released from prison in the United Kingdom, after being declared privately bankrupt in 2017. The 55-year-old has racked up loans of around NOK 70 million, which he is unable to repay.
He was initially sentenced to two and a half years in prison for withholding money and other funds from the authorities. Becker only served eight months before he was released and sent back to Germany.
“Impossible” milestones: – A dream
Now Boris Becker is on a luxury vacation on the West African island group of São Tomé and Príncipe, after what he describes as the most difficult year of his life, writes the Swede Sports sword.
– Last day of the year and I want to say a few words to my loved ones and everyone who respected me and stood behind me through the toughest year of my life. Now it’s over and I feel like I came out the other side stronger than ever. My mental health is better than ever, but I would never have gotten through this without the help and support of so many people, he said in a video greeting at Instagram.
