Britain last month approved a six million pound aid package to help Ukraine
The assistance is based on denying all cyber-attacks made from Russia
A British program is secretly helping Ukraine defend against Russian cyberattacks has now been revealed. Details of the £6 million package have not been announced beforehand to protect operational security, said the official in charge. It is the responsibility of the BBC to provide all information available up to the time of this programme.
Ukraine saw unprecedented attacks from various Russian intelligence services, according to those involved in the program. But Ukraine’s defences, supported by their allies, helped withstand many attempts to bring down the system. Russia has repeatedly rejected claims that it has carried out cyber attacks.
The Russian attacks came in waves, increasing in the second half of last year as Moscow prepared for an invasion, security sources said. Currently, the issue of cyber attacks has moved to a secondary position after the launch of a major conventional military operation.
