The unemployment rate in the United Kingdom remained at 3.7 per cent between November 2022 and January 2023, the same as in the previous quarter, reported this Tuesday (14/03/2023) Office for National Statistics (ONS, for its English acronym).

According to the agency, the employment rate increased in the period to 75.7 percent, compared to the previous 75.6 percent, while the inactivity rate increased to 21.3 percent, compared to 21.4 percent in the previous period.

The ONS director of economic statistics, Darren Morgan, noted on Tuesday that there had been a slight increase in employment, especially among part-timers.

“Detailed figures from our business survey show record numbers of jobs across several sectors, including law and accounting firms, healthcare, pubs and restaurants. In addition, the number of people out of work or looking for work is down overall,” he added. .
