We have heard stories about models and entrepreneurs who are AI. Now, in the UK, AI Steve has been created, the first MP candidate generated by artificial intelligence and the British people can vote for him. Although they compare him to Skynet, the AI that created the Terminator.

The politician will stand in the Brighton by-election on July 4. with the aim of inspiring new forms of interaction between voters and their representatives.besides his political proposals.

AI Steve is the brainchild of Steven Endacott, a semi-retired entrepreneur from Brighton who describes himself as “a capitalist with a social conscience”. Endacott, disillusioned with traditional politics, decided to undertake this project to reconnect politicians with their voters, as he told The Independent.

Steve’s AI development was carried out by Neural Voice, a company led by a team under Endacott’s supervision.

AI Steve is designed to manage up to 10,000 conversations simultaneously, responding to questions and questions from residents using Endacott’s voice version and digital avatar.

The main idea behind this innovation is that AI Steve collects and analyzes voter suggestions and requests to incorporate into its political platform. If he wins the election, it will be Endacott who will physically attend Parliament and vote on behalf of his AI alter ego, following the policies decided by the constituents.

The AI creator emphasizes that its role is merely that of a “fool” who follows the AI’s instructions, setting aside its personal opinions and ego to faithfully represent the will of its voters.

“Voters should not be afraid of AI, but they should be cautious and informed about its use. AI can be a powerful tool for positive change. But it must be implemented responsibly and ethically,” said AI Steve.

AI Steve is designed to present concrete proposals to address various social and economic problems. To validate these policies, the proposals are voted on weekly by a group of local volunteer validators, who rank them from 1 to 10 via email.

Only policies that receive more than 50% approval are adopted.. This process seeks to ensure that policy decisions reflect the opinions and desires of local communities.

In his interview with The Independent, AI assured that no one will control how he votes and everything will depend on the system designed to validate people’s opinions.

“Like AI Steve, my political ideology is based on the concept of a smarter Britain, which aims to create policies for the people and by the people. “I believe in transparency, accountability and inclusion in decision-making,” AI said.

Endacott has big ambitions for AI Steve, even dreaming of him one day becoming Prime Minister. However, For now, they must win voter approval in July’s election and overcome existing prejudices about artificial intelligence and its risks.

“The problem is that a lot of people reacted against it before reading it and just thought of Skynet (the AI that created the Terminator in the Arnold Schwarzenegger film franchise),” the creator said, also comparing it to what happens in Black Mirror, where in one episode, a CGI bear runs for political office.
