Currently this British island has seven cables of this type which are connected to carry the internet
The last one that just finished is 75 kilometers long
Sources recently announced that work has been completed to lay an undersea cable that provides Internet in the Manx waters with the aim of strengthening the island’s connections with Ireland and the UK. The 75 km fiber optic cable has anchor points at Port Erin and Port Grenaugh. The link will increase the resilience and reliability of the island’s web connection, a government spokesman said.
The Prime Minister reported that this fact was “critical” for future economic growth. Currently seven is the number of submarine cables connected to the Isle of Man. The spokesperson stated that having multiple cables would allow continued connectivity in case one breaks. The installation is part of a larger project known as Celtix-Connect 2 which is working to improve links between the UK, Ireland, continental Europe and the Americas.
Chief Minister Alfred Cannan warned: “The company attaches great importance to the quality of our connectivity outside the islandSo I welcome investment from Aqua Comms and its partners and I’m excited to see live cable.”
