UK reduces Russian imports to a minimum and zero purchases of its fuel

Britain reduced Russian imports to a historical minimum as a result of sanctions for the invasion of Ukraine. In June the volume of imports fell to 39 million euros, the lowest figure since 1997.

According to the Office for National Statistics, that is a 96.6% decline compared to the average monthly imports in the 12 months to February 2022. On the other hand, UK exports to Russia totaled 199 million, a figure higher than this month’s exports. Maybe but it shows a decline of more than 66% with respect to the monthly average in the 12 months until the start of the conflict.

Meanwhile, Italian Prime Minister Draghi has announced that Italy can reduce gas imports from Russia to zero from the fall of 2024.
