Ana Constanza Hernández Romero, a graduate of the Bachelor of Biotechnology Engineering at the Universidad Veracruzana (UV) Faculty of Chemical Sciences (FCQ) of the Orizaba-Córdoba region, will soon begin postgraduate studies at Newcastle University in the UK.

He says the programs have been of great interest to him since he attended the University of Granada, Spain, where he does mobility, “because they offer subjects such as cell and tissue culture of animals, which gave me the opportunity to have the experience of doing cell culture with mice. Although human skin and tissue cultures have already been done in Spain, I realized that this is another very broad field and provides many options that can greatly assist treatment around the world,” he said in an interview.

He emphasized that while he was in the final year of his degree, he applied for the Leaders in Development program of the Mexican Foundation for Education, Technology and Science (Funed), an entity that provides educational and financial advice and support for pursuing a master’s degree. excellence abroad.

“I was selected and started working with them to advise me on selection and application for universities, as one of the requirements is that the university wishing to enter is positioned among the top 200 worldwide, I am also interested in having an agreement. with Conacyt. I was surprised by the challenges involved in studying a graduate program in a language other than one’s own,” explains Ana Constanza.

To achieve this goal, he applied for a Conacyt-Funed call because through it he could have access – in addition to Funed’s own support – to a 30% discount at the contracting university, the amount to cover the remaining tuition, maintenance and health insurance.

Hernández Romero says he is up for the challenge, as he has experience interacting with people from other universities; also, it recognizes the level of UV preparation. “The academic plan is very good, in terms of the skill level I feel in the same condition as my classmates, I am very satisfied with my studies in the Bachelor of Biotechnology Engineering”, he added.
