In the middle flight felt like going to the bathroom and asked the crew to accompany him to the toilet using a special wheelchair. However, the workers refused to help him. According to his testimony, a member of the flight crew told him that “handicapped people should wear diapers.”
It is common for airlines to have special seats called ‘corridor seats’ to be able to transport disabled people through the narrow corridors of the aircraft.
In a statement to ‘Insider’, AlbaStar pointed out that corridor wheelchairs are not mandatory under current regulations. Similarly, the company expressed its sincere apologies to the woman.
“Life as a person with a disability can be downright humbling and embarrassing at times and sadly this is one of them. Being told straight to my face that I have to wear diapers when I don’t need them and be happy with the policy makes me happy..makes her feel insulted,” she said. Berrie.
