Vodafone’s service bill totaled 9,110 million euros between April and June 2023, the British carrier’s first fiscal quarter, representing a year-on-year decline of 4.2%, the company reported on Monday.
However, on an organic basis, which presents results on a like-for-like basis, excluding exchange rate impact and hyperinflation in Turkey, as well as M&A, Vodafone’s service revenue increased by 3.7%.
In this way, while adding the turnover for other concepts of 1.630 million euros, 7.6% lower than the previous year, Vodafone’s total revenue in the first quarter of the fiscal year decreased by 4.8% year-on-year, to 10.740 million, despite increasing by 3.7% in organic data.
Between April and June, Vodafone service revenue in Germany fell 1.3%, to 2.819 million, while in the UK it increased 3%, to 1.401 million. In the case of Italy, operator services revenue fell 1.6%, to 1.035 million, and service bills in Spain fell 3%, to 871 million.
On its side, Vodacom’s services revenue totaled 1.426 million euros between April and June 2023, 14.3% below the bill recorded in the same quarter the previous year.
Looking at the whole year to date, the UK operator has confirmed that it expects an adjusted gross operating result (Ebitda) with a rental margin of around 13,300 million euros and an adjusted free cash flow of around 3,300 million euros.
“Along with our plans to transform Vodafone, we have achieved better service revenue performance in almost all of our markets,” said Margherita Della Valle, CEO of Vodafone, noting a very strong performance in the business segment.
“Looking ahead, we have already taken the first steps of a customer-focused, simplicity and growth roadmap, but we still have a long way to go,” he added.
