One of the most popular features of What is it is to archive chats. Many users choose to take this alternative to save the conversation in a different space.

While you won’t see it in the main body of the app, the archive feature doesn’t delete chats or back them up to iCloud.
When you receive a new message in an archived chat, whether individual or group, the message arrives normally but the conversation remains in the ‘Archived’ section.
To find them, at the top you can see how many individual or group chats have new messages.

Archive individual or group chats
– Open the Chats tab, swipe left on the individual or group chat you want to archive.
– Press Archive.
You can also archive all chats at once. To do this, on WhatsApp, open it Settings > Chats > Archive all chats.
View archived individual or group chats
– Go to the top of the Chats tab.
– Tap on Archived Chats.

Unarchive individual or group chats
– Open the Archived Chats screen, swipe left on the individual or group chat you want to unarchive.
– Press unarchive.
To unarchive chats manually, you need to follow the steps below and search for the contact’s name or the message that the contact sent you:
– In the Chats tab, tap the bar Look for.
– Type the name of the chat or part of the chat content that you want to unarchive.
– Swipe left on the chat you want to unarchive.
– Press Unarchive.

Alternate Archiving Settings
To change the default settings so that archived chats are not archived when you receive a new message, follow these steps:
– On WhatsApp, go to Settings.
– Tap Chat.
– Turn off Keep chats archived.
