2024 Visa Lottery – NBC New York (47)

WASHINGTON — The State Department revealed this Saturday the list of recipients of the 2024 Visa Lottery.

Up to 55,000 visas were drawn to legally emigrate to the United States.

Applicants selected into the program must meet simple but strict requirements. The State Department selects those selected at random, which has until September 30, 2023 to find out if they are selected.

The Department of State distributes visas among six geographic areas, and no country can accept more than 7% of available visas in one year.

PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE UNTIL 30 SEPTEMBER 2024 TO KNOW IF THEY ARE INVITED

For DV-2024, natives of the following countries are ineligible to apply, as more than 50,000 people immigrated to the United States in the last five years:

Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (including Hong Kong), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom (and its territories), Venezuela and Vietnam.

List of countries eligible to participate: Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Ecuador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia , Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago and Uruguay
