Pebbles, the toy fox terrier from the United States is the oldest dog in the world. He died of old age on Monday, October 3 at his home in Taylors, a town in South Carolina.
Death was first reported by Guinness World Recordsand later mentioned by several international media.
Pebbles is 22 years old, and five months away from his 23rd birthday.
The dog was first recognized as the world’s oldest dog earlier this year. In April, Guinness named TobyKeith, a 21-year-old Chihuahua, the world’s oldest dog.
When Pebbles owners Bobby and Julie Gregory found the award, they had to say that their dog was actually older.
Pebbles was born on March 28, 2000. She lived a long and happy life, and became the mother of 32 puppies during her lifetime.
Julie Gregory runs an Instagram account dedicated to her pets. The account has 7434 followers and 69 posts. Gregory released a press release with information about the dog’s death.
Gravel weighs four kilograms, loves to listen to country music and enjoys trying new foods.
– It’s an honor to have him as a pet and a family member, writes Gregory.
– No one ever met Pebbles and didn’t love him. He will be greatly missed, he concluded.
