British Intelligence: – Probably lying

According to British intelligence, the recent Russian withdrawal from west of Kherson was in relatively good order compared to previous major Russian withdrawals. They wrote that in their Sunday morning report.

They pointed out that the lost vehicles were probably dozens, not hundreds, and that many of those that remained were destroyed by the Russians so that Ukraine would not use them.

– Separated

– This relative success may be partly due to a more effective single operational command under General Sergej Surovikin. However, power is shared by poor leadership at junior and middle management levels.

Intelligence indicated that two companies under the Eastern Military District had fled in the last two months after their leader was killed.

– Other officers may lie about it in an attempt to cover up the incident.

Last week Russia began withdrawing from Kherson. The city had been occupied since early March, but after eight months Ukrainian troops managed to retake the symbolically and strategically important city.

Destroying critical infrastructure

According to NTB, as many as 30,000 Russian troops withdrew from the city of Kherson and other places on the west bank of the Dnipro river.

Before they got out, they were supposed to destroy all critical infrastructure, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

He claimed Russia had deliberately destroyed all electricity, communication possibilities, the internet and television.

Ukraine’s state network company also said Russia destroyed a vital power plant in Kherson before the retreat.
