Inspired by the Crown
Crown Princess Victoria wants to flee the country
Little did Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria know that a British-inspired TV series “The Crown” about her own family was now being planned.
Crown Princess Victoria, 45, doesn’t like the idea of her life being dramatized in the planned new Swedish TV series “Monarchy”, which will be shown on Sweden’s TV4 and C More.
In this series, viewers can follow King Carl Gustaf (76) from before the death of King Gustav VI Adolf on September 15, 1973 to the present day.
This means that Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Princess Madeleine and their spouses and children also have a central role.
Victoria was skeptical that members of the royal family would be depicted in the series.
– How can they be produced correctly? It will be difficult, at least while people are alive, Crown Princess Victoria told Svenska Dagbladet.

Not yet sure who will get the role
The heir to the throne doesn’t know who he wants to play in “The Monarchy”.
– I don’t care about that. I’m not going to watch the series. Maybe I will flee the country when the show is on TV, Crown Princess Victoria told Svenska Dagbladet.
He has caught a bit from the British series “The Crown”, which is about the royal family in Great Britain.
– I must say that this is an excellent depiction of the environment, and also historically interesting. But I can’t judge the truth in the series, said the crown princess.

Inspired by “The Crown”
Series creator and writer Åsa Lantz admits that “The Monarchy” was inspired by “The Crown”.
– But my approach is different. “The Crown” is about how monarchies influence world events, but in Sweden it’s the opposite.
“The people here have changed the royal family,” Lantz told Dagens Nyheter.
