Over and over again, parallel lines have been drawn between David, Duke of Windsor, and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.
Both married American divorcees, both resigned from the Royal House, and both were always a thorn in the side of the British Royal House.
Check out parts of a recent, much-discussed interview with Prince Harry here:
The sibling relationship has soured
However, there is one important aspect that separates them: Only one of them has conducted in-depth interviews and is about to publish his shadow-written memoir.
For those who haven’t seen “The Crown”: David, Duke of Windsor, was the uncle of Queen Elizabeth II who abdicated as King Edward VIII in 1936 because he wanted to share his life with American divorcee Wallis Simpson.
After abdicating on December 10, 1936, he moved into exile in France and almost had to get the approval of the reigning monarch to live in Great Britain.
Prince Harry may soon do the same.
The interview the prince conducted with Tom Bradby for ITV and Anderson Cooper for “60 minutes” is pretty much the same, but with something that could be big news.
Unfortunately, there have been plenty of leaks from Prince’s upcoming memoir, so the statements are not quite the same.
What can be extracted from the interview is the attack on Prince William.
Consistent with both interviews is that the sibling relationship has soured, and never got too close, at least according to the Duke of Sussex.
She was the third person at public events after her brother got married, and “the fab four” was just something the press invented to tear them apart again.
Dragged Diana down from the pedestal
That Prince Harry might have done something bad for his older brother didn’t seem to have occurred to him at all.
Also, there are all the clips of Diana. Once again, the late Princess of Wales is in the spotlight.
That Prince Harry is still affected by the loss of his mother at such a young age is clear enough, but what’s sad is that the prince doesn’t understand that he knocked his mother off a pedestal with his behavior.
Prince Harry will never be his mother, because as the reigning son of a monarch, he is actually part of an institution where his mother finds no place.
When someone later looks at Prince Harry’s behavior, and criticizes him, some might be inclined to think that “So did Diana. That’s where she got it.”
On top of that, the prince tried to take ownership of Diana’s whole story, and seemed to forget that there were actually two boys who lost their mother on August 31, 1997.
Finally, everything Prince Harry says may go unheard. The audience is finally fed up with all the duke problems.
Royal Central’s website has written an entire article about why they have chosen not to write anything about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Have taken action
And what will the royal family do? King Charles III has made changes to the coronation ceremony to avoid his scandal-ridden brother, Prince Andrew, and his son, Prince Harry, having an official role at the coronation.
Traditionally, the duke of a kingdom is supposed to swear allegiance to the king when he sits in the St. George’s chair. Edward.
However, only the Prince of Wales would do so.
There are other things that set the Duke of Windsor apart from the Duke of Sussex:
The Duke of Windsor abdicates from the British throne. Prince Harry has abdicated from wisdom and tone.
