UPDATED: BBC’s new streaming channel broadcast live in Norway

“BBC Nordic” will launch in April, the company reports in a press release.

“The BBC has gathered the best in entertainment, lifestyle and factual entertainment from BBC Brit and BBC Earth and brought them together in a brand new mix of channels. On the BBC’s Nordic+ streaming service, viewers can dive deep into the BBC programming they love from the linear channel and discover new favourites,” the BBC reported in a recent press release.

BBC Nordic is a “linear channel”, while BBC Nordic+ is a new streaming service.

Has immersed himself in the Norwegian habit of watching

– We at BBC Studios want to show the Norwegian public that we care about what you want to watch. We’ve investigated Norway’s viewing habits and selected shows we know audiences love, along with exciting new additions in the entertainment and lifestyle area. This expands our content mix and ability to appeal to a wider and more diverse audience. The introduction of BBC Nordic+ will also mean that viewers have one BBC-branded destination both on TV and on demand, said Arran Tindall, Senior Vice President of Key Markets at BBC Studios in a press release.

We’re talking about cable TV and streaming services. Both will debut at 10:00 am on April 17, 2023. Norwegian prices have not yet been announced.

“Among the programs that will be available on BBC Nordic at launch is the latest series from award-winning documentary filmmaker Louis Theroux – The Louis Theroux Interview… Here we see Louis getting closer to Britain’s biggest stars like singer Rita Ora and actress Dame Judi Dench Serengeti III will take viewers to the heart of Tanzania to immerse themselves in the adventures and dangers of iconic wildlife trying to navigate a country on the verge of change.

Lifestyle programming and entertainment will also be an important part of the channel’s offering with the channel’s iconic series The Great British Bake Off (S10) new to the channel along with fun shows like The Great Pottery Throwdown, in which 12 home potters compete to be the champion of the clay , and DIY SOS which follow friends, family and local businesses transforming the homes of needy families across the UK. Viewers of BBC Nordic can also look forward to new episodes of popular entertainment series coming to the channel in the coming months – Live at the Apollo, The Graham Norton Show, QI, Pointless and The Weakest Link.

BBC Nordic+’s dedicated on-demand service will allow viewers to dive deep into the BBC content they enjoy from the BBC Nordic channel and discover new favorites at the touch of a button. New content is organized around themes such as arts and culture, tourism, history, documentaries and music. In April, it will include the groundbreaking documentary series from Public Enemy frontman Chuck D – Fight the Power: How Hip Hop Changed the World. In this new 4-part series, Chuck D leads a cast of Hip Hop icons from Ice-T to Run DMC to Eminem who will tell the full story of how hip-hop rose from the ashes of the Bronx in the ’70s to become a global force for change today. ”
