The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, had responded harshly to the intervention of the leader of the opposition, PP president, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, during his second debate in the Senate, the last of its kind before municipal elections. and the autonomous community on 28 May.
With irony, he branded Feijóo’s speech “constructive”, which he criticized for its “faltón tone”. “He promised a constructive opposition, demanded debate and proposals. I believe in that statement,” he continued.
Sánchez recalls that Feijóo “was preceded by a certain reputation as a quiet man”. “An experienced ruler, who spent more than a decade, though surprising, as president of Galicia,” he added.
The President of the Government has made it clear that he believes that Feijóo will “limit insults” and reach a grand deal, such as one that will allow the Judiciary to be renewed, ultimately frustrating. “I even thought she was willing to distance herself from Vox. A year later, I have to tell you her jump into national politics was underwhelming,” he said.
Sánchez confirmed that this was “a feeling shared by many” and added: “Perhaps, with his leap into national politics, Galicia has won and the rest of Spain lost. It couldn’t be more disappointing.”
Later, he once again criticized the PP leadership’s lack of preparation on many counts and adopted the motto that had become a tradition at Sánchez: “bankruptcy or bad faith”.
