Corporate tourism grew by 38% during the first quarter

Huge impact of business tourism

As data from the Spanish Convention Bureau confirms, a quarter of the world’s tourists travel on business, which equates to 280 million people traveling for professional reasons to attend meetings, congresses or conventions.

This same study, echoed by UniversalPay, reflects the important economic impact of corporate tourism, in Spain, in particular, earns 7,000 million euros per year.

In addition, according to data from Ostelea, business tourists have greater purchasing power and average spending is usually higher than leisure tourists. Specifically, business tourists spend around 206 euros per day, while leisure tourists spend an average of 146 euros a day.
