In recent years, the UK has experienced an increase in the number of dog attacks from the American XL Bully breed. But now, the authorities have taken action.
Starting from the new year, the breeding and relocation of dog breeds, among other things, will be banned, the report said Sky News. From 31 December, anyone who already owns a dog of the above-mentioned breed must muzzle the dog in public and must be on a leash.

From 1 February 2024, ownership of the XL Bully will also be prohibited, unless the owner applies to have the animal registered in the Excluded Dog Index and complies with a strict set of rules.
The rules include muzzles, neutering, microchipping, and restraint. Owners who do not do this should euthanize their dogs.
To owners who wish to euthanize their dogs voluntarily, British authorities offer compensation of 200 British pounds or the equivalent of around 2,700 Norwegian kroner.
A ban on the breed was announced in September, and it didn’t take long before dog owners took to the streets to demonstrate against the measure.
