Love Island UK is one of the most popular reality shows in the world, and its eighth season, which premiered this summer, has become viewed more than 250 million times, according to ITV.

In July, ITV announced that viewers can look forward to both winter and summer of the program in 2023.

After the end of the season, there was speculation whether Laura Withmore, 37, would return as a presenter.

Hot criticism

Withmore has received criticism on social media for her handling as a presenter this summer.

Among other things, the fans accused the 37-year-old “humble” participant Remi Lambert (22) and Popular winning “slut-slut” Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu (28).

Despite ITV’s trust in the presenter, Withmore herself announced on her personal Instagram that she was done with Love Island UK:

After the Love Island profile shared the news, fans became clear about who they wanted to take over from the 37-year-old.

Bright favorite

2022 season winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu (28) is frequently mentioned in the comments by fans, along with former contestant Maura Higgins (31). Cülcüloğlu, on the other hand, is the favourite.

Withmore indicated that his intentions with the presenter role were only to fill in for Caroline Flack for a season, and ended the Instagram post saying he hoped she made Flack proud.

Flack tragically died in February 2020.

Neither Cülcüloğlu nor Higgins responded to comments from fans about taking over as Love Island hosts. ITV also has not commented on who will replace Withmore.

Some fans of the program are now also speculating whether Withmore’s husband, Iain Stirling, 34, will leave the program with his wife.

He has been narrating the episodes since the show became a hit on UK screens in 2015 and is well-loved by fans. This year it was announced that he will also be the narrator on US Love Island.
