ARCC extends validity of Government to Government Agreement with Great Britain | News

The Authority for Reconstruction with Amendment (ARCC) announced the extension of its Government to Government (G2G) Agreement with the United Kingdom until 31 December 2023.

This, to proceed with promoting technical assistance transparent recruitment process in comprehensive solutions for flood control of rivers, streams and storm channels in coastal cities.

ARCC explains that through G2G Agreement, The institutions implemented 137 projects with an investment commitment of S/12,550 million for the reconstruction of 74 schools, 17 health centers and 46 integral solution interventions for rivers, streams and storm drainage systems.

Reconstruction and construction works in the prevention of risks against flooding and landslides take advantage of about 4 million 900 thousand Peruvians from 9 regions. Additionally, they generate more than 10,600 jobs.

Completed and ongoing projects

Within the G2G framework, ARCC has completed 21 schools and three health institutions, while there are 53 educational institutions in implementation and 14 health centers in implementation.

At the infrastructure level, all projects have a preventive approach, the high quality standards and advanced technology provided to serve the affected population, the entity detailed, via a press release.

Technical assistance from the UK – through the Delivery Team (UKDT) – to the ARCC includes planning, reporting, follow-up, monitoring and control of interventions from the comprehensive plan and its implementation, as well as continuing with the management and development of the recruitment process.

Healthy and comprehensive solutions

In the case of health institutions, this they run from 1.5 to 2 years, a much shorter period compared to construction under traditional schemes, which fluctuate between 5 and 10 years.

Among the main jobs to be done with UKDT technical support are the health centers Máncora I-3, Sechura I-4 and Talara II.

In a comprehensive solution, interventions are expected to start on the Tumbes, Piura, Casma, Huarmey, Lacramarca, Chicama, Virú, La Leche, Motupe, Zaña, Cañete, Huaura, Mala, and Rímac rivers, among others.
