First, they beat Turkey’s ALG Spor in the semifinals on Thursday, before tournament hosts Spartak Subotica were sent off in defeat on Sunday. Thus they are ready for the Champions League play-offs.

Rakel Engesvik sent Brann the lead before Tameka Yallop doubled four minutes later. In the second half, Maria Brochmann scored her second goal of the tournament after she won the match against ALG Spor.

Tijana Filipovic reduced the score for Serbia, but there was never any doubt where the win would end.

Brann created some good chances and could have won with more goals, but after the reduction, hosts Serbia had good pressure on Brann’s goal.

Spartak Subotica have won the Serbian league twelve years in a row and have a wealth of experience playing in Europe, while Brann is seeking his first group stage in the Champions League. First, they have to get through the playoffs, where a doubles match is played against a currently unknown opponent.

For Rosenborg, it was Emilie Nautnes who scored the only goal of the game against Belarusian Minsk.

A 1-0 win at Trondheim meant that the doubles tie against the other winning team was the next and final stop in qualifying for RBK. In the pot there is a place in the Champions League that is generous and lucrative.

– We’ve been working on this since 2019, says Rosenborg’s tearful coach Steinar Lein Newspaper address.

Sunday’s game went goalless for a long time, but 19 minutes from full time, Emilie Nautnes was alert when the Minsk keeper made a dangerous return on the finish. The 23-year-old slotted the ball into the net and secured a very important win.

Nautnes thus continued where he left off in a qualifying match against Breidablik of Iceland earlier this week. There he scored two goals and was also heavily involved in one of the other scores.

It’s not inappropriate for the RBK women’s team to win Sunday’s match. The hosts dominated most of the match and created some dangerous chances. Only lack of efficiency prevents more scores.

Who will meet Brann and Rosenborg in the decisive doubles match will be drawn on 1 September. The decisive match was played at the end of September.
