Britain insists it is sending cruise missiles to Ukraine

Several Western officials had notified it some time before CNN that Britain should send the missile, which has a range of up to 250 kilometers. British authorities are said to have received assurances that the missiles would only be used on Ukrainian territory and would not be fired at targets in Russia.

In recent weeks, Secretary of Defense Ben Wallace and Secretary of State James Cleverly have been in the US to discuss support for Ukraine.

Britain and other Western countries have stepped up military aid to Ukraine in the past year. In February, Britain promised to deliver 14 Challenger 2 tanks. Other countries are also offering tanks and fighter jets in the fight against the Russian invasion.

A group of European countries led by Britain recently asked weapons manufacturers to indicate whether they were interested in supplying missiles with a range of up to 300 kilometers, but Britain said they had yet to make a final decision on supplying them.
