Bupa and Sanitas agree to buy Inpao Dental in Brazil

Bupa went shopping in Brazil. Care Plus, the Brazilian subsidiary of Bupa led by Sanitas, quadrupled its customer base in the dental business by acquiring Inpao Dental, a dental business operator with a history of more than sixty years in the Latin American country, insurance reported this Thursday in a statement. The operation was approved by Brazil’s National Health Agency.

Therefore, Care Plus went from treating the oral health of 84,000 clients to 350,000 clients. Thanks to this acquisition, the Brazilian company will serve more than 600,000 patients in total in its healthcare business.

“This is a very ambitious operation that expands our presence in the Brazilian healthcare sector,” said Iñaki Peralta, CEO of Sanitas and Bupa Europe and Latin America. “This is a very important milestone for expanding Bupa’s presence in the healthcare sector in Europe and Latin America,” said Peralta.

Inpao Dental serves 270,000 clients from more than 580 companies. For its part, Care Plus is the main healthcare company in Brazil in this sector premium and offers medical, dental, occupational medicine and preventive medicine services. It provides services to more than 300,000 customers and more than 1,000 companies, and since 2016 has been part of Bupa. Care Plus also has two specialized clinic networks, Care Plus Clinic, which offer medical and dental care; and Dental Prime, a network of dental clinics.

Sanitas is a health and wellness service specialist in Spain. It offers its customers products and services for every stage of life through a model that includes health insurance, hospitals and multi-specialty centers, medical centers, dental clinics, other healthcare services, and aged care services.

Sanitas has more than 11,250 employees, has a medical staff of more than 49,000 specialists and 4,000 integrated health centres. In addition, the insurer has its own provision consisting of four hospitals, 21 multispecialty medical centres, 16 medical centres, more than 200 dental clinics, 45 nursing homes, 17 of which with day center services and four independent day centres. .

Sanitas is part of Bupa, which has more than 31 million patients worldwide. The group employs more than 85,000 people, primarily in the UK, Australia, Spain, Chile, Poland, New Zealand, Turkey and Brazil.including countries.
