According to the senator, the company questioned subcontracted, for $4,000 million, to another company called Espejo Público whose shareholder was the daughter of John Jairo Uribe, producer of Canal del Congreso and someone very close to Barreras.
Alleged malfeasance within Congress is also being investigated by the Attorney General’s Office because of “the principles of administrative functions and this type of employment relationship may be neglected, as well as possible improper interests and possible patrimonial harm.”
This adds to the fact that it seeks to clarify the reasons why the offer was accepted abruptly, the existence of documents without a certificate of compliance being processed and the justification for subcontracting, among other reported irregularities.
Upon hearing the news, Roy Barreras himself responded with a message on his Twitter account stating that “the persecution will not end. Haters don’t rest. Peace to them. They are wasting their time. I have endured and debunked slander for years, and tribunals like the venerable Supreme Court have just pronounced a ruling in my favour.
And he added: “The years show my process, straight and clean amidst the sordid political battles. This is how I will show it in the face of the reckless and delusional diatribes of a hating YouTuber who in his preposterous statements before the Court said he knew nothing. But it spoils the media.
Roy Barreras left his position as president of the Senate after the State Council annulled his election due to dual militancy.
